Most Changed Lifestyle Award I had a job interview the other day. It was a casual thing, far from formal, yet it made me consider stuff i hadn't thought about for a while, such as the right quantity of make up, the order my ideas were going to slip out of my mouth and if Bruno would be ok for a full half hour without his ma (rather, would mother of Muffin be ok without him...)
The appointment was with a girl i used to work with a while back. Five years ago. A nasty business situation kept us from being closer. Let's just say we were getting along and then we simply disappeared from each other's sight for good.
Life, alas, is a funny little brat, and that's how after all that time we ended up last week sharing mineral water at an air conditioned office and chatting about projects, companies and the caring of a dog.
Being a new mum, i was the one who walked away with the Most Changed Lifestyle Award under my arm, but she was certainly not the same girl either.
The image i had kept of her as a witty, dark woman with a non-creative sense of fashion was broken when i saw her again. There was something summery and breezy about her. The way she walked, the way she acted, the pink revealing top. She looked different and i sensed a new someone underneath her. She was warmer.
As a result, there was no result. I'm not sure i want what she offers. She's not sure either. But it was good to attend the interview. And, p.s., Muffin had a blast with his grandma.
